Chelmsford and Anglia Ruskin University (CARU) Fencing Club have announced a new competition, the Chelmsford Marathon Epee which will be held on Sunday 5th April 2009 in Witham. Click here for Map It is a mixed gender fencing competition, with a format unique to the UK. The format is inspired by the German Competition, Heinrich-Hahn-Gedächtnisturnier (Darmstadt Epee Marathon). The competition's aim is to give each fencer as many competitive fights as possible. The competition will be run with two rounds of pools followed by a series of pool unique’s, there will be no elimination and all fencers will fence the same number of fights whether they finish first or last.
